| In the
Beginning... Michael Bell started learning the home building trade
while he was a senior in high school. An actual house was
constructed during the school year. After graduating from high
school in 1974 he joined the United States Navy Sea Bees Construction
Battalion, adding further to his construction experience. |
| 1977 |
He joined Jim D. Williams
construction and began working side by side with his uncle and grandfather
who were both cabinet makers. Uncle Jim was the original hands-on
"classic" Carpenter that did plumbing, heating, electrical,
etc. It was from these beginnings that his career was launched. |

Bell Construction starts
subcontracting business on his own, for other contractors. |
| 1987 |
Builds first home. |
| 1988 |
Ridgewood Creek Parade Builder
- wins "People's Choice Award"; completes two (2) homes
during the year. |
| 1989 |
Three (3) homes built; enters
home show as part of a special community fund raiser to benefit
Opportunity Enterprises. |
| 1991 |
Receives G.B.I (Graduate
Builders Institute) designation from Indiana State Builders Association;
participates in Shorewood Forest Spring Showcase of Homes |
| 1992 |
Heritage Valley Parade of
Homes builder - "People's Choice Award"; Parade Chairman;
Vice President for Porter County Builders Association. |
| 1993 |
President - Elect, Porter
